WHAT DOES A CHILD RECEIVE?

All Children Receive:
•1-2 new outfits
•1-3 new toys
•A package of socks
•Diapers (if needed)
And If Age Appropriate
•1 stuffed animal
•A coloring book
•24 pack of crayons
•Hat and gloves/mittens
•A bag of candy
•A bag of stocking stuffers
•A family gift
•Wrapping paper
•Christmas Decoration
Each child receives approximately $75 in new gifts.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR ASSISTANCE?

  • Residents of Jackson County, NC

  • Families who qualify for food stamps or Medicaid

  • Families not receiving gifts from another source

  • Families where the parent has legal custodial authority

 

All recipients of presents through the Christmas Connection are referred by the Jackson County Department of Social Services, the Jackson County health department.

HOW DO YOU DECIDE WHAT GIFTS A CHILD RECEIVES?

Parents are asked to fill out a list of gift requests for their child. Volunteers buy gifts for the children with donated money. Some people prefer to donate money, while others prefer to do their own shopping and then bring the items purchased to the Christmas Connection of Jackson County.

HOW OLD ARE THE CHILDREN WE SERVE?

We serve children 0-18 years old who are still living at home and have not dropped out of school.
